I went to device management and tried to install that way by pointing to look at the CD and only he cd, but it keeps findin CH340 and calling the cable that. Kept asking me over and over again, so i pressed cancel. I put in the usb serial and then pressed OK. I tried installing the driver after trying the 'restore' and then it told me to plug in my PL 2303 com port. Is that when u restart ur comp and press enter on go to previous setting that worked? Duno anyways. I deleted all the drivers i could find for usb to serial uldnt find any ch340 or wch files. Im havin the same problem as this one guy jimbom.ok so check this out.
So i pressed ok.it keeps on giving me the message, so i pressed cancel and it aborted everything and gave me the message 'Because the device is not connected, installation process will be aborted.'.
Went to install shield wizard for USB to UART Bridge Cotroller.clicked next.starts saving files in prog files.then all of a sudden it pops up a message saying 'Please plugin 'PL2303 COM Port' then press OK' i have my serial port plugged in. I got the installation cd which i put in after i plugged in my cable.i clicked on USB to RS-232 cable drivers. So i just got this serial cable with the lable HL-340.
